Facebook has recently make a change in its Like Button functionality feature, now facebook like button will be treated as Share Button with promising feature into a wall of particular users.

Facebook has released an update that fundamentally changes the button’s functionality to that of a Share button. Now after hitting the Like button, a full story with a headline, blurb and thumbnail will be posted to your profile wall. You’ll also be given an option to comment on the story link. Previously, only a link to the story would appear in the recent activity, often going unnoticed by users.

I think the change was necessary. Because it was never made clear to users that the Like button would function differently than the Share button, many never understood what it meant to click Like on a piece of content. Making the result the same as the Share button could build stronger user expectations, ultimately fashioning a better user experience.

Wants to shop online on facebook? Now you can do online shopping on facebook with the world top online retailer Amazon. Amazon has launched its shops on facebook for users to do online shopping with the variety of products online. Amazon’s subsidiary Quidisi has opened up a few stores selling household items on the social network.

Quidsi, which was acquired by Amazon for $540 million in the fall, has created electronic commerce pages on Facebook for Soap.com, BeautyBar.com and Diapers.com. These are companies owned by Quidsi, and their social network presence together amounts to about 60,000 fans.

When you go to Soap.com’s Facebook page, you see a tab called “My List” where you can search for and purchase products all within the social network. The shopping cart on the site looks like a more sophisticated, cleaner version of the one on Amazon.com, and lets you confirm what you want to purchase. The tool also tracks your order, and encourages you to “like” the product.

What I found most helpful was the “My Lists” tab, which let me shop across all of Quidisi’s destinations (Diapers, Soap, and Beauty Bar), reorder, and customize my shopping list. This seems like a more robust version of FatWallet.

Quidisi somewhat resembles Storenvy in allowing you to shop from “stores” within a single tab. However, while Storenvy requires you to create a specific account for the application,”My Lists” just asks you for the login you’ve previously used on BeautyBar.com, Soap.com, or Diapers.com.
Good news for music lovers, that Apple is now negotiating with many Music Companies to allow iTunes customers for download unlimited music through iTunes. Apple is in discussion with top music companies to allow customers who have purchased music through iTunes, greater access across devices according to a report at Bloomberg.
The sources, who wished to remain anonymous, said that Apple is in talks with music companies such as Vivendi SA (VIV)’s Universal Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment, Warner Music Group Corp. (WMG) and EMI Group Ltd; and that an agreement could be reached by mid year.

Apple and the record labels are eager to maintain the demand for digital downloads, and would offer users more flexibility in how they purchased music, amid the popularity of services like Pandora Media Inc., which don’t sell tracks and instead let users stream songs from the Web, to any device.

An agreement would allow customers a permanent backup of purchased music as well as the ability to copy downloads to iPad, iPod and iPhone devices linked to the same iTunes account, meaning that damaged or lost purchases would be a thing of the past.
The most popular mobile platform game Angry Birds is coming to Facebook soon. Angry Birds has over 75 million downloads and counting and has popular fan following is taking a flight and soon lands on popular social networking website Facebook pretty soon, it's not exactly surprising to find that the game will be migrating to the largest social network in about a month.

Finnish company Rovio has had huge success with Angry Birds over the last year and couple of months since its debut in the Apple App Store. Since its inception in December of 2009, the game has expanded from just the iPhone to the iPad, Android devices, the PlayStation Portable, and soon Windows Phone 7 devices. It even garnered a deal with Twentieth Century Fox with their latest animated film, Rio. Soon, Rovio plans to take Angry Birds into different genres, like driving. And it appears that user fatigue is not ready to set any time soon.

According to Develop-online.net, Rovio studio boss Mikael Hed said that the Facebook version of the game will have "completely new aspects to it that just haven't been experienced in any other platform," and that "the pigs will have a more prominent role."
Motorola has launched its new device called Motorola Xoom. The new Motorola Xoom tablet has been one of the most anticipated tablets to hit the market. It has a true tablet OS, handsome looks, and features that seem to fit the bill of a killer tablet. But for a tablet to truly be an iconic device, features, looks and OS must work in perfect harmony to deliver an experience that is flawless.
The device comes in at 9.8 inches wide, 6.6 inches tall and a half inch think. It has a solid amount of mass to it, but isn't so heavy that you will get tired of holding it upright while watching a movie or recording one. It sports a resolution of 1200x800, Nvidia Tegara 2 graphics, 3G, 4G, 802.11n, personal hotspot, 10.1in display, two cameras, 32 GB onboard storage, SD card slot support and 1GB of DDR 2 RAM. The proverbial dream tablet, if you will.

But it's not all about the hardware, even the best hardware can be gimped by faulty software. This bad boy runs Google's Honeycomb 3.0 software and it definitely shows that this is an early software release. More on that later.

Take a look at Motorola Xoom Video for Real- Time Review:

Conclusion
Having said all of the above, is this a good tablet? Yes, if you don't want to buy into the Apple cult, this is your tablet. But, you need to understand that the OS is not perfect and if you can wait for a revision of the OS, your experience will be that much better. Motorola hit a homerun with the hardware and build quality but we need the OS to catch up to it. The Xoom is a top notch product, and you will be happy with it as long as you know that you need Google to update its OS to make it a flawless experience.

Social Networking is now become one of the effective way to connect with any website in easy way. So Now Yahoo! made this for their users to get connect with their favorite Social Network website within their Yahoo Mail service. Yahoo! has launched a new version of its free email service with better social media connectivity.

Users who elect to try Yahoo Mail Beta can view and share updates from Facebook and Twitter without leaving their Yahoo! in-box, according to WebProNews. There’s also an automatic slideshow feature that allows people to see photos and videos from sites like Flickr, Picasa, and YouTube from within their email messages. Other improvements include unlimited storage and better search functionality.

It’s interesting to watch Yahoo!’s strategy in social media as the company has always been much more a media than a technology company, unlike Google. Yahoo! had many social features of its own but has made the call to partner with others. While Yahoo! owns Flickr, YouTube belongs to rival Google, Facebook has ties with Microsoft and Bing, and Twitter is its own entity. Yahoo! is being smart by realizing that it needs to work with the leading applications, regardless of whether the company is a competitor in other ways.

It will be interesting to see whether Yahoo! users find the new email functionality helpful or whether it ends up being clutter. I use Gmail and I turned Buzz off after only a few days because I found it stressful having so many unread messages. I’ve also tried using Flock – like Firefox but with social media integration – as my web browser but I abandoned it because it was distracting.

Visual Studio Service Pack 1, which has been in beta since December 2010, includes improvements to developing in Silverlight 3 and 4, as well additional features that support Windows 7 based MFC (Microsoft Foundation Class) interfaces usable for Direct2D, DirectWrite, and Windows Animation. Microsoft also promises numerous bug fixes and overall improvements to responsiveness, stability, and performance.

Just after seven weeks of introducing Chrome 9, Google has now released its new version of Chrome 10 web browser. Google has removed support for H.264 and adding in a 66% faster JavaScript engine in its new Chrome version. This new release is also features the new Crankshaft JavaScript engine which was included with the recent beta.

The big change is in the Chrome Options screen which has been revamped and will now, according to the official blog, "help you get to the right settings quickly so you don’t have to dig endlessly to find a way to import your bookmarks or change your browser’s homepage." Instead of using the traditional menus, users are now able to type the setting option into the address bar instead.

The removal of the H.264 codec may not come as a surprise to many as Google said they would cut it out earlier this year due to a patent issue with a group of companies including Microsoft. For HTML5 content the browser still has support for Theora and WebM codecs, both of which are open source.

Everybody seems to be waiting for the first look of Windows 8. Microsoft is working hard on its next big operating system Windows 8. As we know Windows 8 due out in 2012, the closer we get to the product launch, the more information will surface about the included features.

Win7china, has leaked out the new information and screenshots of Microsoft Windows 8 operating system, according to the website Windows 8 will have a factory restore feature that will return the computer to its factory state in under 2 minutes and that the installation time of Windows 8 M3 took 8 minutes to install. This install time is approximately 2.5 times faster than Windows 7. The factory restore feature will not require a disk to be inserted to accomplish this task and the required hard disk space to do this is said to be minimal.

The Chinese site also confirmed several other items that we knew would be incorporated into Windows 8 including an app store and the ability to log in using Windows Live ID.  The picture below was also leaked that shows the Windows Live ID login in the task bar that confirms the Windows Live ID login.

Microsoft has released its much awaited Windows 7 Service Pack 1. Now users can Download Windows 7 Service Pack 1 live from Microsoft here.
One Week ago, Windows 7 Service Pack 1 and Windows Server 2008 R2 became available for MSDN/TechNet subscribers.

Windows 7 SP1 only contains two major new features, which will not affect the majority of users. The first of the two is RemoteFX, a standalone product that requires Windows Server 2008 R2 to be used. RemoteFX allows users to watch high-quality video and interact with 3D applications over a remote desktop session -- this will change the way Virtual Machines are used, as they have had limited display capabilities until now.

The second feature is an update for HyperV in Windows Server 2008 R2 called "Dynamic Memory". The feature is as simple as it sounds -- it dynamically allocates memory to virtual machines as required and is able to remove memory from virtual machines when others need higher resources. You can read more about the new features over on the Windows Server Team Blog.

If you want to work faster in your iPhone, iPad and other Mobile Phones like you work on your Personal Computer, then you can use Bluetooth Keyboard for iPhone and iPad. I have searched many bluetooth keyboards for Mobile Phones and Touchscreen Devices especially for iPhone and iPad, and finally got my hands into most promising and best Bluetooth Keyboard for Mobile Phones, which i am going to review today in my blog.

Verbatim has made bluetooth keyboard specifically designed for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. Its Bluetooth capability also works with other mobile phones, but it really shines with Apple devices, with its full set of keyboard shortcuts that worked well with my iPhone. The keyboard’s typing action is like most laptop keyboards rather shallow, but still usable. Touch typists might not like the varied size of the keys, where, for example, the “G” key is slightly smaller, while on the other hand, the “V” key is larger. It’s also strange to have two small space bars, but I got used to it quickly. Still, you’ll have to make slight compromises for this portability.

Looking at the keyboard, it reminds me of the old favorite Palm 3245WW folding Bluetooth keyboard that some people still like so much they’re willing to pay upwards of $200 for it. But this verbatim model goes one step further with a feature that differentiates it from all others: its transport controls let you tend to your music on iPod, iPad or iPhone.

Take a look at the Verbatim's Bluetooth Keyboard in action in the following video:

You can Buy Verbatim's Bluetooth Keyboard from Verbatim website for $104 price, For that price, it’s not worth it, but then I was relieved to find it for $53 on Amazon. For that, it’s a good deal, deserving of a place in your carry-on bag. So what are you waiting for Go and Buy one for your iPhone, iPad and other touchscreen devices.

A hacker with the name of Nir Goldshlager has posted the information and video showing how an attacker could quickly and easily gain administrative privileges to any Blogger account. The video show off some complex tricks and techniques. Goldshlager did mention that this was for the Google Reward Program,
The seven minute of video by Goldshlager shows how he successfully gained access to a blogger account by adding himself as an author (without the administrators approval), then sends himself a confirmation email, after which the attacker would become an author on the website. Following these steps, the attacker successfully modifies their permissions to become an administrator, allowing full access to add, edit, and delete all the content on the victims blog.

The blog doesn't mention if this vulnerability has been patched by Google or if Google is still unaware of the problem, as the exploit was only posted today.

Google has announced a new feature in its Search Engine called Website Blocking. Through which users can easy block any website which they think is not suitable for them in search queries and then website will not appear in search results in future for them. Users who use the search engine will start to see a new option, 'block all results', that means any future searches will not show any items from the desired domain name.

Users will also be able to change manage their settings with more detail using a new option within the Search Settings screen. From here new sites will be able to be blocked and existing preferences managed and updated. The blog continues to say, "We’re adding this feature because we believe giving you control over the results you find will provide an even more personalized and enjoyable experience on Google."

Google also claim they will be using this information to evaluate the blocks and see how relevant the selected domains will be to future rankings. The new feature is available to all English language searches on Google.com but only if you are using Chrome 9/10, Internet Explorer 8+ or Firefox 3.5+. Other languages and domain extensions are presently being rolled out and will be available soon.

Android users can chat now with their Facebook Application. Facebook App for Android has been updated with its almost completely functional feature of Facebook Chat.

The official facebook app now has a Chat interface that presents open chats up at the top so you can see who’s around at a quick glance. This means you no longer have to use third party apps, like Trillian for Android, that used to be the only way you could chat on the go.

Previously, the Facebook application for iOS was the only one to include this feature, according to Erictric.com. Another update to the old version is that the new app now has push notifications alerting you every time you receive a new chat. This is especially cool because it means you can get a message even when the application isn’t being used.

You can have your phone flash, ring, or vibrate any time you get a friend request, message, and event invite.

The push notifications can also be set to alert you anytime you get messages, comments, and wall posts so you don’t have to open the app to see what people are saying to you.

Developers say there have also been some bug fixes in this updated app, so if you have a Droid, make sure you download the update now.

Apple has announced the release of its iMovie and GarageBand Applications for the iPad at its iPad 2 announcement event. This new application featuring brand new interfaces optimized for a larger screen, the new versions are set to take advantage of the large screen size and touch screen capabilities to provide a new way of working with user created content.

GarageBand is a new addition for the iOS platform. It features 8 tracks of recording and mixing, as well as over 250 loops to be used in projects. Projects are compatible with the Mac version. Musicians can use on-screen instruments or plug in a physical guitar, and GarageBand uses some features impossible in the Mac version to enhance the feel of virtual instruments. For example, to detect a harder hit of the piano key, GarageBand uses the accelerometer to detect the force of the hit.

iMovie will include features expected from the Mac version, such as precision editing, multitrack audio recording, and themes. iMovie will include over 50 sound effects, and users can also record their own audio. Projects are laid out in a stylized movie theatre setting, providing snapshots of projects in front of a brick wall backdrop.

iMovie and GarageBand will cost $4.99 and will be out on March 11th.

Google once again comes up with its new feature Google Cloud Connect for Microsoft Office and giving advantage to MS Office customers to go beyond technology by using cloud service.

According to the Google Official Blog the new plug-in for Microsoft Office can be downloaded by everyone who have a Google Account. It allow users to sync all data of Office work from Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint applications and upload them to Google’s cloud. From there all users can collaborate on the same versions of the files at the same time.

Cloud Connect for Office also has revision history and offline editing, letting you sync documents at a later date if you don’t have Internet access at the time of writing.

Google has also announced a 90-day Appsperience program that will let businesses test out all of the Google Apps for a small fee. The three month long test drive will cost $7,000 for companies that have 50 to 500 people or $15,000 for companies with more than 500 people.

Appsperience allows access to Google Apps, Google sites and to Google cloud connect along with new collaboration analytics that can be accessed directly through the Google Apps control panel.

As the Google Appsperience website states, at just $50 per user per year, the costs for using Google Apps for businesses is pretty low already, and the figures for the test drive don’t really show off the savings companies can make. The difference is that the Appsperience users can make use of additional support options that many businesses may well need when first starting out cloud based setups.

Google Cloud Connect can be installed on most versions of Office 2003, 2007 and 2010, but not with Office 2010 starter edition or any version that Microsoft’s Click-to-Run service has been used with.

  2. Rename the downloaded Zip file to 'update.zip' - Nexus One owners MUST do this, while interestingly the Nexus S can flash from any file name.

  5. Press the volume DOWN button to highlight 'recovery' and press the power button to select it.
  6. Next you should see a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark - press the volume UP and power buttons simultaneously.
  7. This last step depends on your phone - Nexus One users: use the trackball to select 'apply sdcard:update.zip”. Nexus S - Choose 'apply update from /sdcard and choose the update file.
After the above steps and a restart you should now be running Android 2.3.3. Welcome to Gingerbread, Nexus One owners!

Update: As pointed out in the comments, it appears Google hasn't so much released the update files as someone's managed to get hold of them. Either way the end result is the same, but it's still worth remembering that this isn't strictly 100% official!
As we reported earlier about release of Windows 7 SP 1 from Microsoft website. Now users can also get Windows 7 SP 1 from their Windows Update section. The service pack is now available online through Windows Update.

Windows update was the likely method of download as the standalone installer required up to 8GB of free disk space to install whereas it seems through Windows update requires a maximum of 540MB. For users with only a few PC’s to worry about, Windows update is the likely route however those with a greater amount can choose between the standalone installer or online installation which requires up to 1GB to install.

As reported earlier, SP1 only comes with two major new features, those being RemoteFX and HyperV - features that shouldn’t affect the majority of users. However likewise with most SP’s that Microsoft release for Windows it comes with some security fixes and other minor tweaks.

Microsoft has also provided a spreadsheet of the changes and security fixes in which we can see in detail the changes that have been made.

Microsoft Hotmail has just introduced its new Social Media feature in Hotmail. Now hotmail users can chat with their facebook friends instantly within hotmail.
Just a few days after announcing social media functionality in the newest version of the Bing toolbar, Microsoft announced that the ability to access Facebook chat within Hotmail is now available in every part of the world that the social network reaches.

According to Microsoft Windows Blog news:

When we first announced the ability to chat with Facebook friends from Hotmail, we were only able to offer this to customers in six regions. Since then, we’ve been working with Facebook to increase availability, and a few weeks ago, we announced that the feature was available globally through Messenger. Today this is available around the world through Hotmail too. And while Gmail beat us to bringing their own chat into the inbox, we have now gone a step further and brought both our own chat and Facebook chat into your inbox. Starting now, we will be displaying notifications of this update in Hotmail.

Since announcing the availability of Facebook chat in Messenger worldwide two weeks ago, nearly 2.5 more million people connected their Facebook accounts to Windows Live, bringing the total to over 20 million customers. And with three out of four Hotmail customers using Facebook, we expect that many more people will want to take advantage of this feature, now that it’s available from your Hotmail inbox.

What do you think about this new chat feature? Do you use Hotmail Chat while checking out your E-mails??
