As we know Google have just launched its new search feature called Google Instant. Which is quite faster way of searching any thing in Google. So now Google introduces this facility of Google Instant in iPhone and Android mobile devices. Google Instant is now available on many U.S Mobile Devices.

According to the Google Blog, the Instant search option is presently on Android 2.2 devices, as well as iPhones and iPods running on iOS 4. As of right now, Google Instant is only available in English, although Google (Google) plans on adding more languages and bringing the service to other countries and devices.

In order to test out Instant's latest incarnation, one must tap the "turn on" link beneath the search box while visiting Google.com on a mobile device. Users are advised to wait for a bit and refresh the page if the "turn on" option isn't immediately visible.

Mobile Google Instant is similar to its desktop counterpart -- it offers a list predicting what users are searching for based on what they type. The first prediction's results will automatically appear on the screen. To access the remaining results, users just have to tap their fingers on the other listed predictions. If they press "enter" or the search button, the predictions will be skipped in favor of results that match the exact search terms.

The service, best designed to work on 3G and Wi-Fi networks, can also be enabled or disabled without causing users to leave the page they're on. All one needs to do is tap the "turn on" or "turn off" link.

Google Instant made its desktop debut in September, which is when a mobile sneak peek was also made available. By the end of the month, while in the midst of rolling out Instant to other countries, Google also added keyboard navigation to the service.

Check out this Demo video how Google Instant will Works on Mobile Device.

Encroaching competition
Microsoft (MSFT) has finally unveiled its Windows Phone 7 operating system, bringing another mobile platform to compete with Android. With a powerful 1GHz Snapdragon processor and hi-rez screens, the initial Windows Phone 7 devices will be fairly well equipped to match many features on Android devices. For gaming and entertainment especially, it’s clear that certain standards have been established for smartphones.

Android Market keeping pace
Hardly fazed by Microsoft’s launch today, Android rolled out a Market update for non-Froyo users. You now get tabbed app browsing, bulk updates for apps and auto-updates for apps you select. The changes are important towards improving navigation around the Android Market, making it easier to manage what some deem are the most important features on your device. With the likes of AppBrain making searchable apps for managing your marketplace, Android itself needs to keep pace.

Another entity that is interested in its own front for the Android Market is Best Buy (BBY). The electronics retailer mentioned interest in experimenting with an app store for Android, which would be a great way to interface and market to their customers. Coming off the heels of Amazon’s (AMZN) delve into Android Market storefronts, we’re sure to see a deep and ongoing evolution for Android’s economy.

Superheroes on-the-go
DC Comics is likely to reap the benefits of this marketplace maturation, with plans to release an Android app in the coming weeks. The publishing company has managed to remain relevant throughout the generations, and having a strong mobile front is just another wave of the future. A number of print media publishers have turned to the mobile industry lately, as it’s reached a point of reasonable distribution and montization.

Android users can chat now with their Facebook Application. Facebook App for Android has been updated with its almost completely functional feature of Facebook Chat.

The official facebook app now has a Chat interface that presents open chats up at the top so you can see who’s around at a quick glance. This means you no longer have to use third party apps, like Trillian for Android, that used to be the only way you could chat on the go.

Previously, the Facebook application for iOS was the only one to include this feature, according to Erictric.com. Another update to the old version is that the new app now has push notifications alerting you every time you receive a new chat. This is especially cool because it means you can get a message even when the application isn’t being used.

You can have your phone flash, ring, or vibrate any time you get a friend request, message, and event invite.

The push notifications can also be set to alert you anytime you get messages, comments, and wall posts so you don’t have to open the app to see what people are saying to you.

Developers say there have also been some bug fixes in this updated app, so if you have a Droid, make sure you download the update now.
Many Google Nexus S and Nexus One Smartphone users wants to update their software with latest release Android 2.3.3. Now Android users can download and install update manually of Android 2.3.3. Reports from Google suggested users could be waiting as long as a matter of weeks for the over-the-air update to land on everyone's handsets, but now the search giant has decided to allow eager punters to download the update and apply it manually.

If you want to be a lucky user to hold latest Android update of 2.3.3, here's how you can get the latest version of everyone's favorite mobile OS without waiting.

NOTE: We're hearing reports of the Nexus S update not working - it seems Google may have given us the incorrect update file. Hopefully the issue will be corrected ASAP!
  1. Download the relevant update for your device: Nexus S and Nexus One.
  2. Rename the downloaded Zip file to 'update.zip' - Nexus One owners MUST do this, while interestingly the Nexus S can flash from any file name.
  3. Copy the renamed file to your phone's storage.
  4. Turn your phone off. Now turn it back on while holding the volume DOWN (Nexus One) or volume UP (Nexus S) button.
  5. Press the volume DOWN button to highlight 'recovery' and press the power button to select it.
  6. Next you should see a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark - press the volume UP and power buttons simultaneously.
  7. This last step depends on your phone - Nexus One users: use the trackball to select 'apply sdcard:update.zip”. Nexus S - Choose 'apply update from /sdcard and choose the update file.
After the above steps and a restart you should now be running Android 2.3.3. Welcome to Gingerbread, Nexus One owners!

Update: As pointed out in the comments, it appears Google hasn't so much released the update files as someone's managed to get hold of them. Either way the end result is the same, but it's still worth remembering that this isn't strictly 100% official!
As we discuss before about Android Overtakes iPhone in U.S.A by 2011. So now Android has not stopped yet. Google is growing and have introduced its next version of its mobile operating system, Android 3.0 (codenamed Honeycomb), I have just got my hands on new promotional video of Android 3.0 by Google. The video of the tablet-friendly OS was posted by the Android Developers account, but was then set to private. Thankfully it has been reuploaded all over the Internet so whether Google meant to post it or not, the video is now widely available.

Android version 3.0 is supposed to be a huge upgrade for tablets, and some rumors even claim it will be exclusive to the form factor, meaning not available for smartphones at all. The text "Entirely for Tablet" seen early in the video seems to support this. Beyond tablet exclusivity, the video shows the user interface, browser, e-books, optimized Gmail, redesigned YouTube, Google Talk, and Google Maps. Frankly, it doesn't even look like the Android we currently know.

Android for tablets will surely start to take off with Honeycomb, but what really has us interested is what this means for the mobile operating system as a whole. If Android 2.x is for smartphones and Android 3.x is for tablets, will Android 4.x converge the two? Google has some explaining to do!

"Many of Android's existing features will really shine on Honeycomb: refined multi-tasking, elegant notifications, access to over 100,000 apps on Android Market, home screen customization with a new 3D experience and redesigned widgets that are richer and more interactive," a Google spokesperson said in a statement. "We've also made some powerful upgrades to the web browser, including tabbed browsing, form auto-fill, syncing with your Google Chrome bookmarks, and incognito mode for private browsing. Honeycomb also features the latest Google Mobile innovations including Google Maps 5 with 3D interactions and offline reliability, access to over 3 million Google eBooks, and Google Talk, which now allows you to video and voice chat with any other Google Talk enabled device (PC, tablet, etc)."

As we told you in our post last year regarding Android overtakes iPhone by 2013, It seems that we were correct that time and now it seems that Android overtakes iPhone in early 2011. 61.5 million people in the US owned smartphones during the three months ending in November 2010, up 10 percent from the preceding three-month period. For the first time, more Americans are using phones running Google's Android operating system than Apple's iPhone, but RIM's BlackBerry is still in first place, according to comScore.

RIM fell from 37.6 percent to 33.5 percent market share of smartphones, Google captured second place among smartphone platforms by moving from 19.6 percent to 26.0 percent of US smartphone subscribers, and Apple slipped to third despite its growth from 24.2 percent to 25.0 percent of the market. Microsoft, in fourth place, fell into single digits from 10.8 percent to 9.0 percent while Palm was still last and further slipped from 4.6 percent to 3.9 percent.

Sony-Ericsson
After the successful launched of Samsung Google Nexus S, the mobile companies still not stop to build smartphones with latest technology, Now Sony Ericsson is back with its another latest device codename 'Hallon' which is build on latest Google Android Technology "Gingerbread".

Sony Ericsson's latest device 'Hallon' picture has been leaked on Engadget. This new Sony Ericsson model appears to be packing a big photographic punch. As you can see from the picture below the device appears to have a very large front-facing camera. Could this hint at a focus on facial recognition or video calls? Maybe HD video?

The images come from a Picasa account filled with test pictures and seems to be on the Vodafone Germany network. More interesting, one of the pictures shows Sony’s Timescape UI, a modification of Android 3.0 (Gingerbread). Like many Android manufacturers, Sony is choosing to modify the core Google Android interface to make its devices look slicker and different from the competition.

Also interesting is the lack of a search button on the bottom of the unit, a common feature of Android phones. Pocketnow guesses that the device is codenamed “Hallon” and has a model number of MT15i.

After the launched of Windows Phone 7 people were really expecting that new version of Windows Phone 7 will surely hit and get successful coverage in market amongst Android, iPhone and other popular devices. Now the latest research report from IDC, remarked that the Windows Phone 7 marketplace grew faster than Android's did at launch. The report noted that Microsoft added 4,000 applications in just two months, a milestone that took Android's marketplace over five months to achieve.

There are a number of factors as to why the Windows Phone 7 has grown as fast as it did. As Engadget.com points out, there are already thousands of developers who know the programming language, which means they can quickly turn code into an app without much trial and error.

The same can't be said for Android, which required Java programmers to learn new libraries and constructs. You also need to include the fact that there are more programmers looking to cash in on the rapidly expanding mobile app market. Programmers are also porting over their apps from iOS and the Android market to Windows Phone 7, expanding their portfolio to multiple platforms.

Microsoft could easily become the third largest mobile app market by the middle of next year, which doesn't face very much competition in terms of WebOS, BlackBerry OS and Symbian.

Despite all of that, this is a major accomplishment for Microsoft and its consumers. With a larger marketplace for consumers to download applications and games, more consumers will begin to migrate to Windows Phone 7.

Before we had reported about popular iPhone game "Angry Birds" availability for PS3, Wii and XboX 360. But now it seems that every gaming platform are rotating their way and now you will be soon able to play PlayStation games, apps into iPhone and Android platform. Yes you have heard it correct "Playstation Apps are now coming to iPhone and Android Now".

This news was revealed on Official Playstation Blog in Europe, the aptly named Official PlayStation App will make landfall in the U.K., France, Germany, Spain, Italy, and the Netherlands "very soon" and while no mention was made of a North American launch date, I can't imagine we'll have to wait for the U.S. version too much longer.

Unfortunately, you won't be able to play Super Stardust HD or Echochrome II on the upcoming app, but at least you'll be able to keep tabs on your PS3 trophy count, as well as what your pals are playing and whether they're online.

The PlayStation app will also deliver the scoop on new PlayStation games and hardware, as well as any incoming announcements (such as PS3 or PSP firmware updates or PSN service bulletins) from the official PlayStation blog.

Last but not least, you'll be able to share articles on the PlayStation app with fellow gamers via Facebook and Twitter.

The new PlayStation app will work on any iPhone or iPod Touch with iOS 4 or better installed, while the Android version requires Android 1.6 or higher.

The European wing of Sony's PlayStation division adds that it's "already working" on a new version of the app that will add support for more countries and languages, and that we can expect "tons more features" in the months ahead.

The ability to actually play mobile PlayStation games on a phone, however, might end up being relegated to the long-rumored, supposedly Android-powered PlayStation Phone, sightings of which have been popping up on the Web for weeks now.

Unsurprisingly, the PlayStation Blog post had nothing to reveal about the mysterious "Zeus Z1" slider, which is said to have its own PlayStation app specifically for mobile games.

At least we'll have the PlayStation app and our old PSPs to tide us over until the Z1 or whatever it ends up being called finally rears its head.
Google finally launches Map 5.0 for Android technology. The Next Generation of Mobile Maps, this new version includes many new features and technology for smartphones users like 3D Interaction and Offline Reliability. You can have free, turn-by-turn GPS navigation with voice guidance for driving or walking directions. You can Explore the map in 3D. With two fingers, drag down to tilt and see 3D buildings where available; twist to rotate (on supported devices).

You don’t have to worry (so much) about being offline, as the app now caches the areas next to the one you’re currently in, meaning you’ll be able to seamlessly keep navigating for a while even when offline. If you’re using Google’s turn-by-turn GPS navigation, the app can now calculate a different route, even if you’re offline. You still need a connection to start a route, however. This feature will be rolled out gradually over the next couple of weeks.

Google has launched Google Maps for mobile a little more than five years ago. Since then, they have added dozens of features, and grown from a few thousand to more than 100 million users. Still, a couple of things have remained the same: a flat, north-up map and the need for a strong Internet connection. Now they are changing that for the first time.

The new version of Google Maps will work on Android 1.6 devices, but only owners of Android 2.0+ devices will be able to enjoy the new 3D and offline capabilities. Get Google Maps 5.0 in Android Market

Amazon is now offering variety of offers for their valuable customers worldwide. Now Amazon also comes up with their latest offer regarding Droid smartphones.

Amazon is currently selling all Droid phones for a penny when customers sign up for a new Verizon Wireless contract.

The deal is good for all of Verizon's (VZW) U.S. Droid phones, including the Droid X and new Droid Pro, through November 22. Customers starting new accounts will also get a $35 credit to cover the full cost of activating the phone.

Smartphone competition across all carriers seems to be sparking a race to the bottom in pricing -- a far cry from the $199 "magic price point" that's been in place so far. Droid Pro is also looking promising smartphones with new Android version.

Amazon (AMZN, Fortune 500) kicked off the smartphone-for-a-penny campaign back in August, when it slashed the Samsung Vibrant to 1 cent. Just last week, the site was selling two Windows 7 phones -- the HTC Surround and LG Quantum -- for 1 cent with a two-year contract from AT&T (T, Fortune 500). Last week's special also included some BlackBerry, Android and Palm models.

It's tough to beat a 1 cent deal, but that's applicable only to new accounts -- current customers are left out. Those eligible to upgrade their phones and extend their contracts can get a discounted phone -- for the Droid X, it's currently $49.99 -- but anyone not eligible for a trade-up will be paying full freight. That's $559.99 right now on Amazon for the Droid X.

A Verizon Wireless representative declined to comment on the offer, which Amazon said the company is sponsoring.
